Travel speed/rated load For escalators and moving walks international travel speeds of 0.5 to 0.65 m/s are recommended.
The maximum permitted speed for escalators is 0.75 m/s. It is recommended only for large rises.
The maximum permitted speed for horizontal moving walks is 0.9 m/s. However, experience shows that the public is reluctant to use the offer if the travel speed is too high. Inclination/rise For angles of inclination and rise we distinguish between escalators and moving walks and also between a private or a public installation.
Public installation: The escalators must have a maximum angle of inclination of 30°. Private installation: The escalators should have an inclination of 30° o 35°. For rises higher than 6 mt, the inclination must not exceed 30°. Inclined moving walks: The angle of inclination should not exceed 12°. We provide an inclination of 10°, 11°, 12°. Horizontal moving walks: We provide an inclination between 0° and 6°. Step/pallet width The choice of step and pallet width is a relevant element in planning your whole buildings and considering the clients' need. Escalator: Step width must be of 600mm, 800mm, 1000mm. Inclined moving walks and horizontal moving walks: Pallet width could be of 800mm or 1000mm. Wide steps/pallets help your customers move ahead quickly and ease overtaking. Operating modes Escalators and walkways are often used cyclically. We offer you two options to reduce costs and at the same time preserve materials. Intermittent operation switching elements (like contact mats or light barriers) make sure that the conveyor starts up only when a passenger steps onto it. Traffic lights signal standby and show the direction of travel. More convenience is possible using a frequency converter that reduces the travel speed to 0.2 m/s when no passengers are present – and accelerates back to nominal speed as soon as the light barrier is triggered. Power supply Our products can be made for all standard global power supplies and voltage frequencies on clients demand.
