Perfect planning also includes optimum installation planning. To ensure easy on-site installation, we have selected some necessary information for you. If you have some questions, you could contact us.

Installation dimensions

Follow the project drawings.

Access openings

The access route should be clarified as early as possible as it eases installation and helps avoid additional costs. Normally the best access is through building openings at the side. In exceptional cases roof openings can be planned to install the escalators by crane from above.

Transport dimensions/routes

Escalators are normally delivered pre-assembled and installed in the building complete. However, if the opening is too low the balustrades can be removed in advance. For escalators with a large rise - or for extra long walkways - it might be necessary to install the product in segments. For both, you must install the components like balustrades, handrails, lateral claddings.

By crane: It is impoartant that the crane's capability is fit for the assembly and layout of the escalator. If the crane is not suitable, it is also possible to use the block and tackles. If not specified, our offers including the installation plan the use of crane.

It is important that he routes to the assembly location are free of obstacles and level and the ceiling can support a load of 40 kN. Otherwise the appropriate weight distribution must be catered for.

By block and tackles: you must therefore check that the ceiling can support the transported weight. For example, an escalator with 4150  mm rise and 35° inclination angle weighs 7500 kg.

Upper and lower supports

Escalators and moving walks are set on end supports that are subject to a spoecific stress. The ceiling statics must be alble to support the escalator plus 5kN/qm passenger weight.

When preparing the supporting structures the measurements indicated on our installation plans must be adhered to.

Intermediate supports

Escaators with large rises and long moving walks require intermediate supports. For the dimensions and the additional space neede, refer to the planning drawings.

Current supply

Three-phase supply + earth return (cable from 6 to 10 mm2) directly at the top end. Lenght of electric cable installed in the machine room: 2 mt. During the maintenance, you can draw the cable from.

If you want, you can also set a control panel installed in the machine room of every escalator or moving walks to disconnect the entire power supply. This additional control panel improves safety during the maintenance operations, allowing the maintenance personnel to check the real availability of current.

Waterproof pit/draw pump

Internal installation: watertight pit to avoid water infiltration and damage. If you want, it is also possible to set a lateral access to the pit to clean up.

Open-air installation: after positioning the product, it is no more possible to access to the pit. For this reason, it is fundamental to set a watertight pit, without water infiltrations and to realize a perfect rain water flow system through gully or draw pump. If you want, it is advisable to plan a lateral access to the pit to do maintenance operations and drain cleaning.

Lateral railings

Lateral railings must be installed at the access of the escalators/moving walks: minimum distance from the handrail edge of 80mm.

If there are adjacent escalators, the minimum distance betwwen handrail edge and railings is 120mm.
